America's favorite pop band, Roman Holiday, is done, dead, and so totally last year. For eighteen-year-old rockoholic Junie Baltimore, this is music to her ears. But when she discovers their sexy ex-lead singer hiding out on the boardwalk, her summer vacation becomes the cover story of the year.
She's willing to keep him a secret, but when a sleazy paparazzo offers her the cash she needs to save the bar her father left behind, could she sell out for the chance to save her future? Who is she kidding? That's a no-brainer...but she never planned on falling head over heels for the lead singer.
The Sound of Us is a pretty sweet, short read but its main character, Junie, packs one hell of a punch. Junies not a pop fan. Shes more of a classic rock type of girl. Junies also witty and funny and I really liked that about her. Im not going to lietheres a lot of predictability, but theres also a lot of laughs and warm moments.
On one hand, I liked Junie and Romans romanceespecially their banter. But there was also a slight sense of insta-love that I was on the fence about. Regardless, I felt like Junie and Roman balanced each other out while connecting over music. Even if youre not a New Adult fan, The Sound of Us is sure to keep you entertained and wanting more.
